July, 2017

Website updates are going live in pieces over July and August of 2017!  This is a long overdue update, and includes some new things like score and recording videos of several pieces (also hosted on my new YouTube channel, which you can check out here).  Several pieces now have direct downloads of scores and parts (no charge!).

I just finished up a wonderful week at the 2017 International Trombone Festival, hosted at the University of Redlands.  It included hosting a composer's symposium with five incredibly talented composers that traveled to the festival, and was headed up by the incredible Eric Ewazen.  It was a blast working with these awesome composers, the performers who did readings of their pieces, and Eric-- a great success!  I also got to hear two premieres, both of which featured stellar performances and great audiences.  The first was Tim Higgins, principal trombone of the San Francisco Symphony, who commissioned the new version of the piece a hymn for forgotten moons for trombone and piano.   The other work was a piece for 12 trombones called Foundry, which was premiered by the 2017 Cramer Choir under the direction of Per Brevig.  What an amazing week!
